 Dear families,

Thank you so much for all of your help and support throughout the school year! In room 7 at Ramsay I am really proud of how we had so many new students join us and how we welcomed each person into our classroom community with open arms. It was a joy working and learning with each child. I hope everyone has a relaxing and enjoyable Summer break.

I look forward to seeing many of you back at Ramsay next school year!

Thanks again,

Drew Jackson

 Hello families,

Our class has been working on researching one of the 4 countries we have talked about through the year in Social Studies. This project is a culmination of our work throughout the year and students are demonstrating their knowledge of such skills as using an index in non fiction texts, reading a map, knowledge of cardinal directions and compare and contrast different communities. Upon the completion of this research students will present to the class using google slides.

 Hello families,

This first week back after our Spring break we have begun to look at coins and money. We started by identifying and labelling the different coins and their value. We then took some time using plastic coins to create a given amount of money.

In Science, students have been working with a partner to research and demonstrate their knowledge of the life cycle of an animal they are interested in using stop motion animation.

Notes for Next Week:

Wednesday, April 12th- Library book return day

Thursday, April 13th- Grade 3 class trip to Calgary Zoo

 Hello families,

This week in Math we focused on knowing when to multiply or divide when given a word problem. We practiced identifying if we know the total number of items and are sharing, or if we are trying to solve for the total number of items.

In Science students have been working with a partner to research an animal's life cycle. Students will demonstrate what they have learned through a clay animation video. This week has been all about planning our stories and next week we will build and film.

Notes for Next Week:
Library day is Wednesday, March 22nd

We also began our puppet residency this week by creating our own characters and exploring with shadow puppetry.

 Hello Families,

This week we spent our time wrapping up our units on Hot and Cold Temperatures in Science. As well, we finished our oil pastel artwork based on the paintings of Emily Carr.

It was a unique end to our week this week as we said goodbye to our grade 2 friends. We will certainly miss having them in our class but everyone is looking forward to a new beginning starting on Monday!

Going forward, Our Library book exchange day will now be on Wednesdays. We are also hoping to begin our weekly community walks on Thursday afternoons. If you would be interested in volunteering to join us please email me.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

Thanks so much!

Drew Jackson
